Mary Thompson, Ed.D. (mthompson3@uh.edu): Mary Thompson teaches pre-service teacher technology courses at the University of Houston and conducts an online technology integration course for 100 student educators in their first semester of field-based placement.

William Chernish (wchernish@uh.edu): William N Chernish brings several decades of business, government, and academic experience coupled with a Duke bachelors degree in mechanical engineering, a Wharton MBA, and a Pennsylvania PhD in business and applied economics to the Journal. He has been involved with a full range of innovative distance learning activities involving traditional paper-based workbooks to instructional television, and online learning in various shapes and sizes.

Sandy Frieden (sfrieden@uh.edu): Dr. Sandy Frieden is Executive Director of University of Houston System Distance Education/CampusNet, an umbrella for distance education outreach for the four UH System campuses with more than 31,000 enrollments annually. She is past president of the Texas Distance Learning Association and of the Texas Association for Educational Technology.

Sylvia Hysong (shysong@uh.edu): Dr. Sylvia J. Hysong is a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology at the University of Houston, and a Research Investigator in the Veterans' Evidence-Based Research Dissemination and Implementation Center in San Antonio. Her research areas of interest include e-learning, technology in human resources, and knowledge management.

Stephen Levey (stephen.levey@hccs.edu): Stephen Levey is the Executive Director of Distance Education at Houston Community College System. He has been involved in the profession of distance education since the late 1970s. Prior to coming to HCCS, Mr. Levey served as the Director and Campus Coordinator for Distance Education at the University of Massachusetts — Amherst, the Director of Media Production Resources and Television Network Services at The University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, and the Manager, Television Production at the University of Arizona Health Sciences Center. He holds B.A. and M.A. degrees from Saint Louis University, St. Louis, Missouri.

Pamela Quinn (pquinn@dcccd.edu): Pamela K. Quinn is Assistant Chancellor/ President of the LeCroy Center for Educational Telecommunications of the Dallas County Community College District. The LeCroy Center houses the Dallas TeleCollege, the district's virtual campus, and Dallas TeleLearning, a production house for distance learning products marketed and used nationally.

Mickey Slimp (mickey.slimp@netnet.org) - Executive Director, Northeast Texas Consortium of Colleges and Universities (NETnet).  Directing a consortium of all of the public higher education distance learning providers in Northeast Texas, Dr. Slimp is based at the University of Texas Health Center at Tyler.  He serves as the project director for the Texas Leadership Alliance and is also a managerial consultant for the project, Online Student Support at Every College.  Directing the Perkins funded project, Internet Teachers in Every College, Dr. Slimp enabled more than 1600 faculty from every public 2-year college in Texas to place their courses online, receiving the Exemplary Program Award in Distance Education from the National Council for Continuing Education and Training. He has produced a variety of video and other multimedia training packages, including Dual/Concurrent Enrollment: Where High School Intersects College; Adults in the College Classroom; Competency Based Education; and 10 Ways to Retain Your Online Students. A former dean at Tyler Junior College, Mickey Slimp also directed the Texas Center for Online Technology and was the founding director of the Virtual College of Texas. He has twice chaired and serves on the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board's Distance Education Advisory Committee and is a past national chair of and serves on the Instructional Technology Council of the American Association of Community Colleges. 

Consuelo Waight (clwaight@central.uh.edu): Consuelo L. Waight is an assistant professor of Training and Development at the University of Houston. Waight is presently using an experiential approach to teach design and management of e-learning. Her research areas are the role of human resource development in mergers and acquisitions and the design and management of e-learning. She received her Ph.D. and Masters in human resource development from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and her Bachelors in English Education from the University of Belize. While at the University of Illinois, she worked with the Knowledge and Learning Systems Group at the National Center for Supercomputing Application (NCSA) in the area of e-learning. Waight has also done several international consulting projects in human resource development in Central America, Caribbean, Asia-Pacific and Africa.
